I thought I'd give eyepiece projection a try since my previous attempts at capturing Saturn were a dismal failure.

Mars is currently at it's closest to Earth since 2003, and appears as a brilliant red star in the sky. Unfortunately it is also suffering from a global dust storm, slowly abating.

Jupiter is high in the skies just after dusk. I period of good seeing allowed me to capture more detail than I've managed before.

For a period of three mostly cloudy nights, the planet Mars and Pluto were within 1.5 degrees of each other.

Jupiter is back in the evening skies. This is my first time playing with a new high speed astronomy camera, the ZWO ADI1600MC.

Although Mars is at it's biggest and brightest this week, it's so small, it's a difficult subject to get any detail out of.
